REACH registration:
Under the REACH Regulation, manufacturers within the EU or importers of substances or mixtures of substances into the EU must register them if the annual quantity exceeds one metric tonne (averaged over the last three years). We have registered all relevant substances and mixtures of substances accordingly.

Lead in our products – SVHC substance:
Our transition to lead-free materials (REACH Regulation): Since December 2022, we have been sourcing only materials for our new production that comply with the stricter criteria of the REACH Regulation (1907/2006) and have a lead content of less than 0.1%. For all products that have already been converted, the obligation to provide information under Article 33 of the REACH Regulation no longer applies. We will be happy to provide you with the current implementation status for individual items on request.

PAC-free

These products are free from harmful plasticisers and PAHs (an abbreviation for polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons).

REACH

REACH stands for Registration, Evaluation, Authorisation and Restriction of Chemicals. Since 27 June 2018, lead has been included in the Candidate List of SVHCs (Substances of Very High Concern) with a limit value of 0.1 per cent. Under the REACH Regulation, we are obliged to inform you if this limit value is exceeded. Since December 2022, we have been ordering exclusively lead-free materials from our suppliers, which comply with the requirements of the REACH Regulation (1907/2006) and fall below this strict limit of 0.1 per cent lead content.

RoHS

RoHS is the abbreviation for Restriction of Hazardous Substances. The aim of the directive is to eliminate problematic components. The directive sets a limit of 0.1% for lead. However, there are technical exemptions, which are set out in Annex III of the directive. These apply to alloys containing steel (6(a)) with a lead content of 0.35 per cent, aluminium (6(b)) with a lead content of 0.4 per cent, and copper (6(c)) with a lead content of 4 per cent. In this respect, all our products are RoHS-compliant.

UV resistance

These products are UV-resistant. This means that the properties of the material used do not change when exposed to UV light. The material properties and colours remain largely unchanged (no fading or cracking). Our black rubber-coated magnet systems are UV-resistant.

SSNT (Salt Spray Test)

These products have undergone the standardised test for assessing the corrosion protection performance of organic coatings, metallic coatings or chemical and physical surface treatments (salt spray test) in accordance with DIN EN ISO 9227.

Stainless steel

These products are made from high-quality stainless steel. ‘Stainless steel’ is an iron alloy with a high chromium content, which makes it particularly resistant to corrosion and therefore rust-free. This material is characterised by its durability, hygienic properties and attractive appearance, and is therefore used in many of our products.

Bio-based TPE (thermoplastic elastomers):

We use this term to refer to soft plastics that are partly made from renewable, plant-based raw materials. We use this material for our rubber-coated magnet systems with enhanced corrosion protection, in order to reduce the use of fossil raw materials in production. Note: As part of our adaptation to the new EU directives against misleading environmental claims (“Green Claims”), we have replaced the ambiguous term “Green TPE” with the more precise term “Bio-based TPE”.

General processing

The attractive or repulsive forces exerted by magnets are a potential source of danger. Magnets can attract or repel one another even from a considerable distance – there is a risk of injury.

Risk of splinters

Magnets are hard and brittle, and can shatter into sharp fragments if they collide. Collisions should therefore be avoided at all costs.

Risk of explosion

Magnets should not be installed in potentially explosive atmospheres, as they can cause sparks.

Warning

Strong magnetic fields can affect electrical or electronic devices. This also applies to pacemakers.

Transport of magnets

Magnets are not classified as dangerous goods when transported by land or sea. For air freight consignments, please refer to IATA (International Air Transport Association) Packaging Instruction No. 953 for dangerous goods.
When sending via a parcel service, the magnets may cause problems if they are not packed correctly. For example, goods (electronic devices, smart cards) in other parcels could be affected, or the magnets could cause malfunctions in the parcel service’s sorting systems. The parcel could also stick to metal objects during transit.
